Since 1954 FCA has had the privilege of coming alongside coaches and athlete to equip, serve and strengthen their faith in God to live wholeheartedly for Him. In unfathomable ways only He can, God continues to take His ministry to new heights and greater depths.

This year FCA launched Fulfilling the Vision, an initiative clarifying FCA’s vision, mission, strategy and methods. We remain dedicated to leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

We believe that through the international platform of sport, coaches and athletes have the power to unite, inspire, and change the world. And with the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach to come to know, grow in and share Jesus Christ.

Let’s celebrate what God has done this past year while also looking ahead to how we can continue to fulfill the vision for current and future generations.

A Message From Our President…

With Don McClanen’s God-inspired dream, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has never stopped moving nor growing. Our vision remains steadfast, and we believe there is a very real possibility that we can reach every coach and every athlete in every corner of the earth.

During 2018, we launched Fulfilling the Vision, an initiative clarifying FCA’s vision, mission, strategies and methods. By engaging coaches and athletes relationally with the gospel, equipping them through God’s Word, and empowering them to make disciples of Christ, we can see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through their influence.

Peace and blessings,

Shane Williamson
President/CEO

“You can be a great leader who has influence on people, moving them in a certain direction and instilling values, but if you want to be a mentor leader there is a whole other depth. We need to be transformative coaches. We need to be changing and drawing hearts to Christ.”

Highlights

FCA Game Plan

Vision

To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

Mission

To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

Values

Our relationship will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.

Strategy

We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of ministering “to and through the coach.”

Methods

As FCA matures, we seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Engage (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.

Equip (Ephesians 4:12)

After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and ongoing support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing in God’s Word and applying it to life.

Empower (2 Timothy 2:2)

Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

“FCA is a great way to fellowship and get to know a lot of people with different backgrounds and upbringings and stories of how they came to Christ.
We’re a family.”
– Student Ahtlete

It’s stories like these that bring the world-wide wonders of God’s movement to life. Yet through all these avenues of FCA, this is the heart of it all:

“The question often asked is FCA as needed or relevant today as it was back then, and I would say more so. FCA is God’s amazing, miraculous dream being fulfilled still to this day.”
